Overview

Booksmate pulls invoices and receipts from your connected email accounts over secure connections (IMAP or Google/Microsoft OAuth). Connect your accounts once and let it handle the rest.

How it works

Booksmate looks only for invoices and receipts in your linked accounts. It never reads the rest of your email. Each document it finds is saved with its metadata (sender and subject), giving you a searchable archive in one place.

Connecting your email accounts

Connect your email account(s) to start using the unified inbox.

You have flexible, secure options:

IMAP connection

Works with virtually any email provider (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, custom domains, and more). Booksmate connects securely using the credentials you provide, then scans and extracts invoices on our servers and saves what it finds with minimal metadata (sender and subject).

Use Google's secure OAuth login. You authenticate directly with Google and grant Booksmate access to your emails. We never see or store your password, and you can revoke access anytime.

Connect via Microsoft's OAuth login. You authenticate directly with Microsoft and grant Booksmate access. We never see or store your password, and you can revoke access anytime.

Your privacy comes first

Email scanning happens on our secure servers to find and extract invoices.
Found invoice and receipt files (PDFs, etc.) are saved to your account.
We store minimal metadata: subject and sender for emails containing documents, so you can see where they came from.
Email body content is never stored.
All connections use industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
With OAuth (Google/Microsoft), you authenticate directly and can revoke access anytime.

Smart handling of payment provider invoices

Some services (Paddle, SumUp, and others) send download links instead of attaching the PDF. Booksmate detects these, follows the link, logs in if needed, and downloads the real invoice for you.
