Adding a new website

Tell us the website, and Booksmate's AI builds the plugin for you. No waiting, no manual development.

How it works

Our AI visits the site you provide, works out how to log in, finds your invoices, and creates a working plugin. It tests it and fixes any issues automatically before installing.

Once it's confirmed working, it's added to your account straight away and submitted to our community catalog so other users benefit too.

How to request a plugin

  1. Open the Plugins page in the Booksmate desktop app.
  2. Click Add missing website at the top of the page.
  3. Enter these details about the website:
    • Homepage URL.
    • Login page URL, where you enter your email and password.
    • The page you see after signing in. This helps the AI understand the layout.
    • The page where your invoices or billing history is listed.
  4. When the AI hits the login page during testing, you'll be prompted to log in manually so it can continue.
  5. Add any helpful notes, for example if invoices sit under a specific tab.
  6. Click Start Building. The AI takes it from there.

What to expect

Once you submit, Booksmate works in the background. Here's what happens:

  • The AI studies the site and creates a plugin that logs in and finds your invoices.
  • It tests the plugin automatically. If something breaks, it fixes it and tries again.
  • That loop repeats until the plugin works and your documents are downloading.
  • Then it's installed in your account.
  • It's also submitted to our community catalog for review so other users can use it too.

The whole thing usually takes a few minutes. Close the window and carry on, you'll get a notification when it's done.

Tips for best results

  • Use the most accurate URLs you can, especially the page where invoices are listed.
  • If your site uses Stripe for billing, put the Stripe billing portal URL in the documents page field.
  • Be ready to log in manually when the AI reaches the login page.
  • Add notes about anything unusual, for example if older invoices are on a separate page.
